Have a 6.7 in a 12 2500 ram. Getting an "frazzle service required see dealer at present" error message. This is pre def model. What are my choices besides going to dealer? Truck has but over 100 k. Thanks. Drilldo

Either see the dealer or delete the emissions. I had a deleted 2012 contrivance and it ran a lot better deleted. ChrisTN

Delete the crap. I have a 2007, with the 6.7, way better truck one time the crap fell off in that big pothole.

I had a 2007 also, in the shop every 20,000 miles for the same problem. Traded it on a Ford at 100,000 miles...one way to eliminate the problem!

My son has a 2007 at present, all the emissions stuff was deleted when he bought it, and he has not had a minutes trouble with it.

Another option is to find some one else stuff that fell off in a pot hole if it needs a new particulate filter. You might have them try and force a burn on it since it seems the 12 had a doser event assuasive the fuel injector for the burn to soot up and not do a fire when its needed. But my guess is information technology is fractured and needs to fall of or be replaced. brewster

Central-ish KY

In all likelihood, information technology will be cheaper to delete it than to accept the dealership gear up your exhaust. If y'all don't have to get your truck tested, I would get that route. a4t-1600

As far every bit I know the filters can't be cleaned and the aftermarket services them but the filter is $1500 thru the aftermarket. That would well-nigh permit the stuff to autumn off if you kept the stock frazzle and only hollowed the cat and the filter out or put cheater tubes in.

After thinking near this a niggling I would get the codes ran with a good capable program--------------And so evaluate it from there. If your eGR valve is bad and your egr cooler is as well sooted up you tin run thru a pot hole way cheaper than repair . With EGR coolers running $2000 for a practiced aftermarket one and the egr valves not beingness inexpensive a good tuner will run almost the same price with the stuff to make it autumn off . It should give yous multiple codes with the dash light on

central ohio..between Springville and Millbrook.

accept it all off. yous volition be the happiest homo alive.

the fuel savings volition more than pay for the conversion.

I did run into one downside to this though. I went to trade one in a couple months agone and the dealer was unable to accept it on trade unless all the emissions were put back on. I imagine this volition become more widespread?

I'd let dodge take a wait at information technology and see if it just needs burnt out first. They can tell you what the codes hateful for not a lot of money. If its going to need whatever parts and you aren't hauling commercial with it I'd let them fall off. Various diesel sites out in that location to tell yous how its done. Pecker. Nick

my 12 started running similar crap and smoked real bad ,but was nether warranty . Took to dealer and they put over 10 grand in it and information technology withal run bad. Ended upwardly trading for a fifteen model which gets way better milage and no trouble so far at 50 k. If I would accept kept it I would delete the junk on information technology. rustywheel

Thanks for all the replies. I called a diesel shop and he said with the miles it would likely take $4k to fix. I take a hole spotted that I recall will drag off the erstwhile frazzle. Then I'll exist forced to replace with something cheaper. ;)
